Why Delivery Charges Depend on Weight? Learn the Simple Calculation

Last Edited: July 11, 2026Policies & Delivery

When shopping for clay items online, delivery charges are often a big question. Many ask, “The glass itself doesn’t cost that much, why is the delivery charge so high?” This is a very natural question. However, remember that clay items are not only heavy in weight but packaging them is also very expensive and risky. We try to take a fair charge based on weight rather than a fixed charge.

Our Simple Delivery Charge Calculation

We determine the charges by following the rates of our courier partners (e.g., Steadfast, RedX, Pathao, or Paperfly).

  1. Up to 1 kg weight: This is our base charge, which is 120 BDT. This includes the delivery of your first 1 kg of products and our special packaging costs.
  2. Only 20 BDT for each additional kg: For any weight added above 1 kg, only 20 BDT will be added per kg.

We do not make any profit or business from delivery charges. This entire amount goes directly to the courier company. We do not keep anything from it.

For example, if you order:

  • Total weight of your order is 0.5 kg (e.g., one small mug): Your charge will be 120 BDT.
  • Total weight of your order is 2 kg (e.g., 2-3 plates): 120 for the first 1 kg + 20 for the second kg = 140 BDT.
  • Total weight of your order is 5 kg (a large set): 120 + (4 * 20) = only 200 BDT.

Method for Calculating Weight

According to courier rules, any fraction of weight is considered as the next whole number. This means if your order weight is 1.2 kg, the courier will charge for 2 kg. This is why we automatically calculate the weight in the website’s cart so you can know the correct price beforehand.

Knowing about our safe Packaging System and Correct Usage Instructions will help you understand why we are so uncompromising about product safety.
